1/27/10- Yu-Gi-Oh Lawsuit Update- Konami Wins!

After opening statements in front of a jury yesterday, parties settled for an undisclosed amount and UD enters into a permanent injunction. This will almost assuredly allow UD to continue existing, but the question is- with Konami not limited in the damages they could seek, why would they settle? Read about it here.

Phoenix Games now rents DVDs! We've partnered with our friends at Moviebank to bring you access to the latest new releases for just $.99 a night! Current MB members can now rent/return movies at Phoenix Games! Those wanting to sign up can do so very soon, as we bring all of the capabilities online this week! Enjoy the convenience of movie rentals without having to walk all the way next door!

1/11/10- No Limit To Damages Sought in Konami Case Against Upper Deck

Breaking Gaming News- Judge refuses to limit damages in Konami/ Upper Deck Yu-Gi-Oh tussle! Konami has won virtually every pre-trial battle thus far in the ongoing drama over whether or not Upper Deck produced and distributed counterfeit cards. Refusal to limit damages could spell the end for Upper Deck! Stay tuned!

Happy New Year! 47 people turned out for our New Year's festivities! Thank you to all who joined us for some great games, laughs and food. It was a truly amazing experience! May you all experience the best in 2010! If you took some pics, feel free to post some to the Facebook event wall!

12/28/09- 5th Annual New Year's Eve Celebration!

Our traditional Wednesday night gaming session will be augmented this week by our special Thursday 5th Annual New Year's celebration. Join us starting at 5pm both nights! Our New Year's session will go until the sun rises, so feel free to join us before or after your other plans, or make us your sole destination to avo...id the traffic nightmares.

New Year's eve gaming will be a potluck event, so bring some food to share and your $5 fee is waived for the evening! Remember, everyone will be here for hours; some "real food" dishes may make you the night's hero! We'll have outlets and power strips available, so if you'd like to bring a hot dish, just bring a crock pot/hot plate, etc. to keep it in.

Some inexpensive ideas- spaghetti, salad, frozen pizzas (we'll have a pizza cooker available), chicken wings, pb and j sandwiches, fruit/ vegetables for snacking. You get the idea!

Families and friends are all welcome, so bring along some sparkling cider and join us in toasting in the New Year!

'Twas the day before Christmas and all through the store

stood shelves packed a'plenty with great games galore.

Games for the whole family and ones played with friends,

the options are limitless, the fun has no end.

Roll the dice! Play a card! Laugh together and play!

Gather all 'round the gametable this Christmas day!

Merry Christmas from Phoenix Games! We'll be open until 7pm this evening.

12/24/09- The Fabulous Facebook $50 "Friends of Phoenix" Giveaway Update!

Congratulations to our Fab$50 Christmas House contest winner- Samantha! A late Tuesday afternoon online donation was what she needed to jump to the top and solidify her lead! Our 2nd and 3rd place finishers were separated by a mere $7, proving every little bit helps! While the contest is over, online donation buttons will stay active through New Year's Day to give Christmas House a jump start on next year!

Congratulations to Sammy on her $50 gift certificate, and (in alphabetical order) to Amber/Ian, Greg, Heidi, Josie, Poun and Sara, who each received a $10 gift certificate for their great work mobilizing friends and family for this event! You all did great work!

Fab$50 Final Tally- We finished with four well-stuffed donation boxes delivered to Christmas House, our largest donation year to date! Over $2300 in gift donations and cash/online donations totalling $272.47. To everyone who contributed, organized friends and family, and participated- thank you! Tomorrow is more joyous for your Snohomish County neighbors because of your generosity!

Thank you to everyone who donated, participated, email blasted friends and family and helped anonymously. You've made a difference for over 100 children who otherwise would have gone without.
